My Favorite Essential Oils + What I Use Them For

My eyelids flicker open to the unlit room. I steal a glance at my husband, my love sleeping soundly beside me. Through the window I watch as twilight melts away, soon comes a majestic sunrise, the red-orange glow sweeping over the horizon as if the light itself was being poured from a molten sun. Powerful rays flood over the landscape lighting every blade of grass, shining from each leaf, touching every inch of tree bark. Rubbing my eyes, I reach for my glasses and slide them on. My world becomes more clear and I begin my morning routine. As I walk into my bathroom, I thank God for this beautiful day and the health he has restored to my being. Opening my cabinet reveals my collection of essential oils…

My collection spans the depth of the Young Living product line. I use a variety of oils and blends for their wide variety of health benefits and uses. Not only do they smell good, but they can be integrated into my lifestyle in multiple different avenues. Each one serves as seven medicines in one.

Here are my favorites:

1.

I use lavender oil for cuts, scrapes, bites, and burns. It’s great to pat on when the grandkids get hurt, after the bleeding has subsided.

Lavender Oil can also be used for:
  • sleeping better
  • eczema
  • nausea/motion sickness
  • nosebleeds
  • dry skin
  • chapped lips
  • hay fever and more!

2.

Peppermint Oil is one of my ingredients for my homemade toothpaste. I love its strong minty flavor.

Peppermint Oil helps with:
  • relieving muscle/joint pain
  • sinus relief
  • seasonal allergy relief
  • increased energy
  • headache relief
  • promotes hair growth…and more!

3.

My toothpaste also has spearmint oil in it! Not only does it taste good, but it also speeds up the healing process in wounds!

Spearmint Oil comes in handy for:
  • relieving skin irritations
  • reducing cough symptoms
  • relieving headaches
  • regulating menstruation
  • reducing stress
  • and more!

4.

Thieves blend is a combination of clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary with a rich, spicy aroma. I put 5 drops in my hot water with orange oil to create a tea.

Thieves is also great for:
  • cleaning around the house
  • sore throats
  • congestion
  • bee and wasp stings
  • cold sores
  • and more!

5.

Like I mentioned above, I love creating a custom tea flavor with five drops of thieves and five drops of orange oil to hot water.

Orange oil is also good for:
  • treating spasms
  • relieving inflammation
  • prevents infections
  • boosts immunity
  • alleviates depression
  • and much more!

6. & 7.

Lemon and lemongrass oils I use mostly for swelling.

Lemon oil can relieve nausea, improves digestion, nourishes skin, boosts oral health, and more.

Lemongrass can also be used for acne, anxiety, athlete’s foot, excessive sweating, headaches indigestion, and muscle aches. Both have amazing benefits.

8.

I use teatree oil for patchy and dry skin.

It’s great for:
  • hand sanitizer
  • insect repellent
  • natural deodorant
  • antiseptic
  • acne
  • mouthwash
  • cleaner
  • and more!

9.

Digize blend is a combination of tarragon, ginger, peppermint, juniper, lemongrass, anise, and patchouli that creates an exotic aroma. I use digize blend when I have any stomach issues.

It works great for bloating, gas, and indigestion. Here is a full list of benefits.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is needed to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web savvy so I’m not 100 positive. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Appreciate it
